A B O U T
Few years ago, my work obligations led me in a tiny country: Luxembourg; far away from my home, I felt a bit lonely at the very beginning of this wonderful 2-year adventure. While trying to find out how I could entertain myself during the weekends, the following thought crossed my mind: “Hey, how about sewing?” And that was the moment from where this story began… with no previous knowledge nor experience, I bought my first sewing machine (as well as some books with sewing instructions) and I started to teach myself how to sew. Then, I accidentally came across a website, which was offering a 3-year, fashion design long distance learning programme in Paris. I was immediately excited about the idea of perfecting my sewing know how and keenly enrolled in this programme.
As my studies enabled me to discover a wonderful world of fabrics, fashion illustrations and pattern constructions, I seriously started to think about building a portfolio of my own creations but, also, to share some interesting hints for those who love hand-made garments as much as I do. Hence, I decided to create Bohemilu sewing patterns, my own little fashion and creative website.
Some years has passed, and with the arrival of motherhood, the limited time for sewing gently opened a new creative path in watercolour and fashion illustration — now reflected in my printable artworks. This is how my tiny creative atelier expanded into a new creative extension, Stitch and Bloom. I am currently based in Prague, Czech Republic and the website’s name refers to both my Czech origin and my name.
